Worker Healthy Living

Dr. Sarah Battistich is the Medical Director for Akido Medical, NYC, and will lead medical services for the Worker Healthy Living program in New York. She most recently served as an associate professor for the Department of Emergency Medicine at New York University and as the associate service chief for NYU Langone’s Virtual Urgent Care. She earned her medical degree from University of Michigan Medical School and a master’s in science, tropical medicine and hygiene, from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She is deeply passionate about health equity and is a supporter and advocate for non-traditional models that break barriers to care.

Hannah Berns is the Director of Clinical Operations for Akido Medical, NYC, and brings a unique blend of tech, clinical and operational expertise to her role. Prior to joining Akido Medical, she co-founded and served as Chief Operating Officer of The Nurse Beat, a healthcare media company. Clinically, Hannah most recently worked as a subject matter expert and charge nurse at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. She was a strategic leader in designing innovative patient safety programs in San Francisco’s only pediatric emergency department. She has also served as a consultant for the California Board of Registered Nursing and as adjunct faculty at University of San Francisco’s School of Nursing & Health Professions. She holds a master’s degree in health care innovation from the University of Pennsylvania.
